# OUR MISSION ## Answer all technical product questions in the world, instantly and accurately. ## Our story [Kapa.ai was founded by Emil Soerensen and Finn Bauer, two Computer Science postgrads from Imperial College London, who were exploring the potential of LLMs and embeddings for information retrieval and question-answering systems. Backed by Y Combinator (S23) and a $3.2M seed round led by Initialized Capital.](/content/site-root.html) In early 2023, tech companies started reaching out about their support teams being overwhelmed with repetitive technical questions, despite having comprehensive documentation. That validated the problem Kapa was built to solve.
